The caliber 7.92x24mm was developed by VBR-Belgium, elaborated and approved by the Belgian test bench for firearms in Liège. The aim of the 7.92x24mm project was, among other things, to develop a new PDW caliber that was safer than the other small caliber PDW cartridges and that can be stopped in basic form by a soft body armor.
.

.
The development of the new 7.92x24mm caliber was carried out on the basis of the official certificate of a recognized person regarding weapons and ammunition in the name of Rik Van Bruaene, manager of VBR-Belgium.
.

In consultation with the test bench for firearms in Liège, the first test barrels were made that are intended for testing ammunition and measuring the chamber pressure in the measuring installation of the Test Bench in Liège.

.
The special test barrels are suitable for standard measuring installations and are stored in the Test Bench for Firearms in Liège. The measuring installation of the Test Bench for Firearms in Liège can therefore test all 7.92x24mm caliber cartridges, also for possible foreign assignments.
.

.
The 7.92x24 mm caliber developed by VBR-Belgium is officially homologated by the C.I.P. (Commission Internationale Permanente pour l'épreuve des armes à feu portatives) by the Belgian firearms test bench in Liège.
.

.
A replacement set in caliber 7.92x24mm intended for the Glock 17 was manufactured by VBR-Belgium and was also tested in the Test Bench for Firearms in Liège.
.

.
This 7.92x24mm exchange barrel is provided with all legally required stamps.
.

.
The exchange barrel for Glock pistol was licensed by the Belgian Federal Weapons Service and is registered to Rik Van Bruaene manager VBR-Belgium.

7.92x24mm and bulletproof vests

7.92x24mm Short FMJ-RN
The normal 7.92x24mm Short FMJ-RN is a standard soft bullet that is loaded on many 7.62 Browning cartridges.
.

This soft Full Metal Jacket .32 bullet tip has absolutely no drilling power and smashes itself flat even on the first layers of a NIJ-2 Bulletproof vest.
.

7.92x24mm Short FPBB cartridge

.
The 7.92 FPBB 73 grains bullet point was specially developed by VBR-Belgium for the 7.92x24 mm caliber and is a cast and copper-plated lead bullet point, made from a hard type of lead alloy that can withstand speeds of up to 500m/s. When impact on a soft bulletproof vest, this bullet point deforms less than an FMJ bullet point, so that this FPBB penetrates deeper into the layers of aramid. We advise absolutely not to go lower in protection value than a NIJ-3A (04) bulletproof vest and recommend a bullet proof vest graded to the 7.62x25mm Tokarev caliber as protection .
.

.

The 7.92x24 FPBB Short also pose no problem for the NIJ-3A(04) bulletproof packages of 250x300 mm. And as a result, the cut and bulletproof T-shirt carriers NIJ-3A(04) also offer sufficient protection against the 7.92x24mm caliber loaded with legally permitted bullet points for sport and recreational shooting.
